On the Wednesday, Dad had conference stuff all day and a dinner that evening, so I was on my own.

We decided to check out another restaurant that had been recommended in an article called "36 Hours in DC". It is a Spanish/Lebanese restaurant that also does tapas. They had a special where you pick one option from each of the four rounds, plus dessert, for a set price. Dad and I both did this option and then split everything. It was so delicious. We had: hummous and baba ghanouj, falafel and scallops (and I tried them again and still am not a fan), chicken in pasta and asparagus with a spicy salsa, and spicy steak and salmon. Desserts were an icecream one which I didn't really eat, and a frozen yogurt with custardy stuff and apricot jelly. Even though the portions of each were small, we left feeling stuffed. Yum.
Ok, enough about food. Onto the pictures!

We had to return the (U)4EA today (the car, for those not following along) but before we did so, Dad and I took a wander around the Tidal Basin, which is where the Jefferson and FDR memorials are. This is me, standing just inside the Jefferson memorial, looking back across the Tidal Basin towards the general area of the White House.

Dad in Trafalgar Square, with Canada House behind. You can just see the provincial flags peeking through the trees, and of course the Canada flag flying from the top.

It was our big sightseeing day in London and we had decided to do one of the red double-decker bus tours. We had to walk over to the BM to catch the bus, and Dad wanted a picture in front of the museum, even though we didn't go in. No more stuff! I don't want to look at any more stuff!

Bright and early on Saturday morning we were up and at the airport, ready to fly to Gatwick, England. Here's Dad with our plane in the background.
